Chip Armstrong Promoted to Vice President of Finance and Contracting

Johnston McLamb recently announced that Charles Armstrong has been promoted to the position of Vice President of Finance and Contracting. Mr. Armstrong has managed Johnston McLamb’s financial operations since 1995 and has functioned as the company’s Chief Financial Officer since 1996.

Mr. Armstrong is a CPA, as well as a member of the AICPA and Virginia Society of CPAs. Prior to joining JM, his background covered over 20 years of service in the Financial and Administrative areas of Insurance and Finance as well as private consulting. He served as Senior Vice President, Administration and Chief Financial Officer of Equitable Life Insurance of Virginia, a member of the American General Group. During his tenure he was elected to the Board of Directors of Equitable and was responsible for all Insurance Administration, Actuarial and Financial areas of the Company. As SVP Administration, he headed the IT project team responsible for the merger, conversion and consolidation of Equitable's Insurance systems with American General. As CFO he guided Equitable through two financial merger-consolidations as well as headed the project teams for installing, developing and implementing all automated financial systems. Chip has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from George Mason University and has completed coursework for the MS Business program from the University of Virginia.
