Johnston McLamb Wins Contract with Occidental Petroleum

Johnston McLamb has begun work with Occidental Petroleum Corporation to help the organization manage the upgrade of its travel management system.

Occidental Petroleum Corporation (www.oxy.com) is a world leader in oil and natural gas exploration and production and is a major North American chemical manufacturer. Johnston McLamb will be working with Occidental’s information technology organization to address issues related to the upgrade of the off-the-shelf software it uses to manage the submission and processing of travel expense information.

Johnston McLamb will begin by installing the new software within a test environment and analyzing any gaps between the new software and the version currently used at Occidental. Johnston McLamb will then lead configuration workshops and will assist Occidental with identifying the configuration and customization issues they must face as they upgrade to the new software.

Within the last year, Johnston McLamb has managed a similar effort at a large federal agency. There, Johnston McLamb consultants were able to help the agency manage the upgrade—which impacted approximately 100,000 users—in less than six months. In addition to providing technical consulting services, Johnston McLamb provided training and communications support that helped the organization minimize the number of help desk calls received as a result of the changes.
