Ronald J. Johnston
President and CEO
Ron Johnston is President and CEO of Johnston McLamb and continues to serve as one of the lead technicians within the company. He has more than 20 years of software engineering experience, which includes web development, data warehousing, methodology consulting, large-scale enterprise systems development, computer-aided software engineering (CASE), instruction of public and customer-site technical courses, project management, database design and data administration. He’s a recognized expert in structured development methodologies and advanced development tools. Over the course of his career, Ron has had direct experience working with industry-leading organizations in the areas of financial services, international development banking, insurance, healthcare, telecommunications, utilities, manufacturing, military, and civil government agencies.
Prior to founding Johnston McLamb in 1991, Ron’s employment history included being a nationally-recognized principal consultant for Texas Instruments, a project manager and lead technician for Analytical Technology Application Corporation (ATAC), a technical manager for a large-scale customs automation project in Saudi Arabia for Sysorex International, and years of application development and database administration. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and has completed studies toward an M.S. in Computer Science at the University of Santa Clara.
Richard McLamb
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President, Dick runs the day-to-day administrative operations of Johnston McLamb. Since co-founding the firm in 1991, he’s been instrumental in establishing its unique, employee-centric culture. Along with Ron Johnston, he authored Johnston McLamb's original Information Engineering methodology (IEm) training curriculum that is the foundation for the company's current extensive IEm training capability. In addition to his duties as Chief Operating Officer, Dick has provided coaching and training to both employees and clients.
Prior to founding the firm, Dick was the Program Director of software engineering services for Analytical Technology Application Corporation's (ATAC) east coast operations. In this capacity, he had overall responsibility for ATAC's delivery of custom-developed software applications for both commercial and government clients on the east coast. He was also one of ATAC's leading practitioners of the Information Engineering methodology (IEm). Dick is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, where he received a B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in Business Administration.
Charles P. Armstrong
Vice President of Finance and Contracting
Charles (Chip) P. Armstrong is Johnston McLamb’s Vice President of Finance and Contracting. Prior to assuming this role, he served as the company’s Chief Financial Officer for nearly 10 years. Chip is a CPA, a member of the AICPA, and a member of the Virginia Society of CPAs.
Prior to joining Johnston McLamb, his career included more than 20 years of service in the financial and administrative areas of the insurance and financial industries, as well as private consulting. He served as Senior Vice President of Administration, and Chief Financial Officer of Equitable Life Insurance of Virginia, a member of the American General Group. During his tenure there, he was elected to the Board of Directors and was responsible for all Insurance Administration, Actuarial, and Financial areas of its operations. He also headed the IT project team responsible for the merger, conversion, and consolidation of Equitable's systems with those of American General. During his time there as CFO, he guided Equitable through two financial merger-consolidations, and headed the project teams for installing, developing, and implementing all automated financial systems.
Chip has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from George Mason University and has completed coursework for the M.S. Business program with the University of Virginia.
Wendy Henry
Vice President of Consulting Operations
Wendy Henry is the Vice President of Consulting Operations for Johnston McLamb. In this role, she is responsible for setting the overall direction of the company’s consulting operations and identifying new lines of business for the firm to pursue. She is also responsible for ensuring that Johnston McLamb’s services meet the needs of each of our clients.
Wendy has more than 20 years of experience in all aspects of full lifecycle application systems development, including the management of large-scale application system development efforts, as well as hands-on systems development. Prior to joining Johnston McLamb, she moved from a System Analyst position to the Technology Services Manager for Government Systems, Inc. (GSI). As the Technology Services Manager, she was responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of a large, object-oriented network management system. She also worked as a Systems Analyst at Georgetown University, supervising a team of programmers/analysts and serving as project leader on several major initiatives.
She has received numerous awards, including the Award of Excellence while employed at Georgetown University and a selection to Infonet's (GSI) President's Club for outstanding achievement. She holds a B.S. in Economics from the College of William & Mary and an M.S. in Information Systems from George Mason University.
