Directions Magazine Hosts Podcast by Johnston McLamb
(February 18, 2008)
Johnston McLamb participated in the Oracle Podcast Series hosted by Directions Magazine titled: Location Intelligence -- Putting the Pieces Together, Enterprise location data consolidation and sharing in February. If you consolidate all your organization's spatial information in the enterprise database, it can be shared among users and leveraged in business processes throughout the enterprise.
This opens up many new possibilities for service improvement, business development, cost reduction, and more. In this podcast, Steven Pierce spoke about how Johnston McLamb is helping enterprise customers in the private and public sector to benefit from Oracle's entire spatial and location technology platform, including Oracle Database, Oracle Spatial and Locator, and Oracle Fusion Middleware Map Viewer. David Lapp of Oracle also provided his insights about how Oracle customers and partners are utilizing Oracle's suite of spatial technology for business process improvement. The podcast can be heard on the Directions Magazine website
Johnston McLamb Wins Oracle Spatial Excellence Partnership Award
(March 13, 2008)
In March, Johnston McLamb received the Oracle Spatial Excellence Partnership Award at the 2008 GITA Conference in Seattle, Washington. Oracle gives this award to the organization that has done the most to support and develop the Oracle Spatial users' community over the last year.
Xavier Lopez, Oracle's Director of Spatial & Semantic Technologies, said this: "Johnston McLamb has been instrumental in promoting the development of the Oracle Spatial and Map Viewer technologies within commercial businesses in North America. In only the last couple of years, Johnston McLamb has become a leading force in North America for creating new and innovative solutions based on Oracle's geospatial and business intelligence technologies. They have exemplified the mutual benefits of close partnering – and that is generating successful business through innovative and high value solutions. Moreover, Johnston McLamb has been a strong proponent of the growing trend of location-enabling mainstream business solutions using Oracle technologies. It gives me great pleasure to present the Oracle Partnership Award to Steven Pierce of Johnston McLamb."
The GITA (Geospatial Information & Technology Association) conference is oriented toward users, solutions providers, and systems integrators who depend upon Oracle's spatial technologies. Also at the conference, Steven Pierce and Bob Murray from R.L. Polk & Co. gave a joint presentation on the Interactive Business Intelligence With Visualization (IBIV) solution that JMCS developed for RL Polk.

Johnston McLamb Announces Significant Growth Since 2007
(May 20, 2008)
Even in a time of general economic slowdown, Johnston McLamb is continuing to grow at a rapid pace. In the first quarter of 2008, revenue increased by 45% over the first quarter of 2007, and our staff has grown by 53% since April 2007. We attribute this to a high level of customer satisfaction, since the majority of the growth has come from our existing customers expanding their use of our services.
Also contributing to the growth were projects with new customers, such as R.L. Polk and the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission. The future looks bright, as well. Our projections call for the rapid pace of growth to continue as we continue to add new customers while maintaining our high standards of quality and responsiveness.
Johnston McLamb Announces VBIMaps™
Johnston McLamb is pleased to announce VBIMaps, our new visual business intelligence mapping application that puts the power of data visualization at your fingertips. Everyone knows that maps can convey information in a richer, more meaningful way that far surpasses tabular reports or simple graphics. However, business executives and decision makers have not taken full advantage of the benefits of interactive maps because of the cost and time involved in building custom mapping applications. Now all that has changed. With VBIMaps, Johnston McLamb can provide you with an affordable yet powerful mapping application in just 10 weeks.
Johnston McLamb Hosts a Booth at the Oracle OpenWorld Conference
(September 21-25, 2008)
Our primary objective was to demonstrate our interactive visual business intelligence (VBI) offerings. We also introduced our new VBIMapsTM product at OpenWorld. Over the five day period, nearly 300 people visited the booth, and many of them spent time talking to us and seeing the VBI demonstrations. For us, the highlight of the conference occurred when we made a sale to a large biotechnology company. The demographics were interesting, as well. We had booth visitors from 18 different foreign countries, including ones as far away as New Zealand, Israel, and Romania. There was also a lot of diversity in the interests, specialties, and job responsibilities of our visitors. They included CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, Directors, VPs, and many different levels of managers.
Steven Pierce had the opportunity to be a speaker at the conference on three different occasions. On Sunday, he and one of our customers gave a presentation on the geospatial applications we are developing for that customer. Steven had the opportunity to give a one-hour presentation on two different days in the NAVTEQ booth (NAVTEQ is the world's leading supplier of digital reference data for maps). In addition, we used the time in San Francisco to meet with companies that we have relationships with and to attend networking events. It was a very busy and productive week, and we look forward to doing it all over again at the next OpenWorld conference in October 2009. We hope to see you there.
